Storm Lake is the place to be for the
Star Spangled Spectacular.
For
a Spectacular celebration, drive in for the annual Star Spangled
Spectacular. Each year, 30,000 people enjoy the Independence
Day festivities. The fun begins the night before with an old-fashioned
ice cream social and entertainment
in the park. Early morning on Independence Day, athletes participate
in the Ride/Run, a leap-frog style
race around the lake. Spectators revel in the 150-entry Big
Parade winding along the lake, wander through Artists Alley,
and enjoy entertainment at three stages, all located in our
beautiful parks. At dusk, people gather to perch on rocks by
the lake and gaze at the patterns of the fireworks reflecting
on the water.
