"Everyone is a kid at Christmas," comes true
at Santa's Castle.
Santa's
Castle began in 1962 with the purchase of four animated elves
and now is regarded as one of the largest displays of antique,
animated Christmas characters in the world.
These unique figures once graced the store
windows of some of the finest department stores in the world.
They have found their permanent home here, in Storm Lake’s
historic Carnegie Library, which is on the National Register
of Historic Places.
Imagine the sparkle in the eyes of the children
as they are mesmerized by the priceless collection of animated
scenes culminating before them. Beautiful ladies ice skate on
a frozen pond. Little mice frolic in a winter carnival. A family
of goats cause a ruckus in the middle of the night on
Christmas Eve. Santa's Castle brings out the child in everyone!
Santa's Castle is almost 100% volunteer staffed
and we are always looking for "Santa's Helpers."
Volunteers collect admission from visitors,
and don the big red suit to provide a special lap for children
to sit on.
