Chamber Information

The Storm Lake Chamber of Commerce staffs three full-time employees and one part-time employee. In addition to these positions, the Chamber routinely hosts interns from Buena Vista University and Storm Lake High School.

Gary Lalone, Executive Director
The Executive Director, serves both the Storm Lake Chamber of Commerce and the Storm Lake Area Development Corporation. He helps in decision and policy making.

Marilyn Monson, Managing Director
The Managing Director plans events, makes contacts, and runs the majority of the day-to-day activities of the Chamber. She meets with potential members, plans meetings for the Chamber’s various committees, and carries out the necessary activities for various Chamber events, programs, and promotions.

Tara Bryant, Administrative Assistant
The Administrative Assistant carries out the routine tasks in the Chamber office, including answering phones, providing first-contact information to walk-ins and callers, and aiding in all of the activities the Chamber performs. She also serves the Storm Lake Area Development Corporation.

Ed O’Toole, Financial Assistant
The Financial Assistant completes all bookwork for the Chamber of Commerce and the Storm Lake Area Development Corporation. He serves as the accountant, and also answers information requests.

In April 2008, the Chamber of Commerce staff:

• Answered 499 phone requests for information
• Helped 83 walk-ins
• Answered 64 requests made by fax, mail, or email
• Gave 110 Business Referrals to chamber members
• Had 4,426 visits to our web site
• Held 4 Chamber Coffees
• Held 0 Business After Hours Events
• Held 0 Ribbon Cuttings

So far in 2008:

• Answered 1,793 phone requests for information
• Helped 311 walk-ins
• Answered 314 requests made by fax, mail, or email
• Gave 381 Business Referrals to chamber members
• Had 19,110 visits to our web site
• Held 5 Chamber Coffee
• Held 3 Business After Hours Events
• Held 3 Ribbon Cuttings

The Chamber of Commerce office is located at 119 W. 6th Street (the corner of 6th and Michigan), one block west of Downtown Lake Avenue.
